Listing Durations

This section allows you to give your sellers the ability to select the length of time (in days) that they want their listing to be 'active' on your site. This may be especially important for time sensitive items, such as sporting event tickets or concerts, where the item is no longer of value after a certain date.

These are site-wide listing duration values. In other words, every user will see these values in a dropdown format when listing their items.

There are a couple if incidences where these listing durations may be overridden by other duration settings in the software:

Category Specific Listing Durations

The Categories Setup menu will allow you to override the 'listing durations' specified in the Listing Setup menu on a category by category basis. Simply click the 'edit category' link for the category you want to apply these changes to, and then the "Durations" link. From that point forward, when a user places a listing in that category, they will see only the category specific "listing durations" instead of the "site wide listing durations".

Price Plan Listing Durations (Fee-Based)

Each "Fee-Based" price plan offers you the option to charge users based upon the duration of the listing. When listing durations are applied at the price plan level, those durations will take precedence over any 'site-wide' or 'category specific' listing durations that you may have in the system for users that fall under that particular price plan.
