Step 3: Enter License Key

Only users who have just upgraded their Software Edition from a software version below 2.0.6 must follow these instructions. For example, if you have just upgraded from version 2.0.5 or earlier of Basic, Premier or Enterprise editions, follow the steps below to enter your license key and gain access to the admin panel.

 

important IMPORTANT: If you have upgraded from version 2.0.6 or later for any software edition (Basic, Premier, Enterprise) you can skip this step and proceed to the Post-Upgrade Instructions of the upgrade process.

 

note NOTE: At this time, you should not even see the "license key" page below if you have upgraded from a version 2.0.6 or later product. Your previous key should already be stored in the system. You should be able to proceed directly to your admin panel and follow the instructions for Post-Upgrade Instructions of the Upgrade process.

 

From the admin login screen of the software, enter your admin "username" and "password" as you ordinarily would and click the "admin login" button. You will now see a screen similar to the one below:

Log in to your "Client Area" on the Geodesic Solutions website and click "View" for your order.

You will see a screen similar to the one below. Your License Key will appear on this page. Copy and Paste that key into the software's Admin Panel and click the "Admin Login" button.

You should now see the Main Admin Panel screen for your software. The installation is now complete and you can begin setting up your software.

 

important IMPORTANT: REMOVE THE SETUP, SQL, AND UPGRADE DIRECTORIES FROM THE SERVER AFTER YOU HAVE COMPLETED STEP 4. IF YOU DO NOT REMOVE THIS DIRECTORY, YOU RISK LOSING ANY MODIFICATIONS THAT YOU MAKE TO YOUR SITE. THESE SQL FILES ARE ONLY USED FOR YOUR INITIAL INSTALLATION AND WILL NOT BE USED AGAIN.
